You loosen the spirits in their thick mortal garments, it is not all in vain all this raging and flailing, you gotta sing over the dull hum of the machinery, though in my coat I got a drowning tool, you know the heart is stone and easily forgotten you wanna be potent and brutal, make demands, it's buried, were breaking our backs past shale and coal, breaking our backs cause the earth needs soul, you pray for forgiveness and proof, well something invisible's pressing on my chest, down you go.
First you gotta pull your own weight, then give a heave ho, and when it's all over we straighten the bones. He found himself falling flat against the world, arms pinned back his face took the full weight he took that as a dare, he took that as a dare got up, chin out, arms back, he dove forward he wanted to see how the world reacts - it flinched, it flinched, he scared the moon away, mankind's got four useless things rudder, anchor and oars and the fear of going down at sea, I'm skeptical of the equipment, the engines been stripped of the ghost - what hunger do you hear when the echo stops? First you gotta pull your own weight, give a mighty heave ho, and when it's all over we straighten the bones.
